Expand your Pokédex!
At first, your Pokédex has 16 Pokémon. You can add to that collection by using several different methods. Try to add every Pokémon to your Pokédex!
SpotPass
Using the SpotPass™ feature built into the Nintendo 3DS™ system, you can get up to three additional Pokémon a day! When your Nintendo 3DS has an Internet connection, and you've put the system in Sleep Mode, occasionally a new Pokémon will be added to your Pokédex.
Be sure to turn on the SpotPass feature so new Pokémon will be added while your Nintendo 3DS is in Sleep Mode.

Share with Friends
You can share Pokémon data with friends to add Pokémon you don't already have to the Pokédex. Look for people who have the Pokémon you haven't received yet.
When you share a Pokémon with a friend, also be sure to scan its Pokémon AR Marker on your friend's screen with the AR Viewer, and snap a photo. The more Pokémon AR Markers you scan and photos you take, the more features you'll unlock in Pokédex 3D!

You can choose to "Give" Pokémon or "Get" Pokémon from nearby friends.
From SpotPass, you'll get only one of the three for Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour, so you'll need to share data with friends to add them all to your Pokédex.
Pokémon AR Markers
In addition to being able to see Pokémon projected into the real world, AR Markers also help you add Pokémon to your Pokédex. Mythical Pokémon such as Victini and Legendary Pokémon such as Reshiram and Zekrom cannot be obtained through other methods, so keep an eye out for AR Markers in retail spots and other locations!
Choose AR Viewer to activate the camera and point it at an AR Marker.
If you find an AR Marker of a Pokémon you don't already have, that Pokémon will be added to the Pokédex.
